2019 – DWTS 1

Our first ever Kamryn’s Cause “DANCING WITH THE STARS – St Jude Style” was held Saturday, July 20th, 2019! We had TEN wonderful Teams that helped us to raise over $10,000 for St Jude Childrens Research Center in memory of Kamryn Dorsey!

Team FE & Lil D

Claudene Breaux Ronsonet – Claudene is the proud daughter of Vance & Lana Breaux. She was born and raised in Loreauville where her family has owned and operated Breaux Brothers for the past 36 years. She is a 1987 graduate of LHS where she was cheerleader for 4 years and chosen as Head Cheerleader her Senior Year.  She has been married to her wonderful husband Tim Berard for 6 years. She has 2 angelic children Obrey and Rory. In her spare time she loves taking naps. She has teamed up with her godchild, Luke David, to help raise money for St Jude’s Children’s Research Center, an organization that holds a special place in both of their hearts.  She spent a lot of time at St Jude’s with Luke when he was a young age and has continued to be a huge supporter ever since.

What was your feeling when you were asked to be a participant for this wonderful event?

“My feeling on when I was asked to participate in this wonderful event again was exciting. I’ve seen firsthand what St. Jude does for our beautiful children.”

Luke David, age 17 – is the son of Derek David, Kyla David, Jay DeCourt & Kim Thibodeaux. Luke is currently a Junior at Loreauville High School where he has been a member of the LHS band for the past 7 years. In his spare time Luke loves to ride motorcycles and even has his own Harley Davidson. As a 2 time cancer survivor, Luke is no stranger to St Jude and spent many months there as a youth. He and his family avidly support and will continue to support St Jude Children’s Research Center for years to come.

Most exciting thing you are looking forward to doing for your first time on DWTS?

“ I am excited to dance with my Nanny”

Team Thing 1 & Thing 2

Aun’Trawnae Martin – is a 2015 graduate of Loreauville High School. In her years at Loreauville High she was a member of the LHS Tigerettes for 1 year and was also on the LHS Homecoming court where she was 2nd maid. She is a graduate of Gail Freese School Of Dance, where she completed over 10 years of dance lessons. After graduation, she continued her love for dance, at Franny’s Studio of Dance in New Iberia where she has been an instructor for the past 4 years. She is choreographing her and her brother’s team dance. Nae graduated from SLCC with a degree in business and is currently a sales associate and clothes model at All About You. 

What was your feeling when you were asked to be a participant for this wonderful event?

“Super Excited I Love To Dance!!”

Danny Sparrow, Jr (DJ), age 12- is currently an 8th grade student at Loreauville High School. DJ is involved in many extra-curricular activities at LHS. He has been a drummer in the LHS Tiger band for

2 years, a team member of the LHS Jr. High Basketball squad for 1 year and is also a member of the LHS Chapel Club. DJ has always had a love for dance. He participated in boys Hip Hop at Franny’s Studio of Dance for 3 years, and was on the competition team for 1 year. 

Most exciting thing you are looking forward to doing for your first time on DWTS?

“Supporting this good cause and getting to dance with my sister”

Team Clifton

Brad Clifton – Brad was born and raised in Loreauville, La. He is a 1997 graduate of Loreauville High School. He is married to Julie Clifton and they have three beautiful daughters, Amelie, Adeline and Abigail. Brad is an electrician for EP Breaux Electrical and is also the current Mayor of The Village of Loreauville. He serves on the St Joseph Parish Council, is a parishioner and alter server at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and has recently started a committee called Loreauville Community Project. Brad is a huge LHS Fan, supports many of the local teams and everyone who knows him knows he can be heard yelling at the Friday Night Football Games, Really Loud!! He is also a T-ball coach for LYBA and is currently leading a project called PROJECT PLAYGROUND to help re-build and update the park for our Village.

What was your feeling when you were asked to be a participant for this wonderful event?

“I was very excited to try to help out for a great cause.

Adeline Clifton, age 5 – Adeline is a Kindergarten student at Loreauville Elementary where she has received all P’s on her report card this school year. She has been a dance student at BDA, Bridget’s Dance Academy for the past two years. She is in her second year of T-ball at LYBA. She loves pretending and her favorite colors are Pink, Purple & Blue.

Most exciting thing you are looking forward to doing for your first time on DWTS?

“Winning the Championship!”

Amelie Clifton, age 7 – Amelie is a 2nd grade student at Loreauville Elementary where she had been on the honor roll all school year. She has been a dance student at BDA, Bridget’s Dance Academy for 3 years and has been on the Tumbling and Cheer Team at BDA for 1 year.  Amelie is very athletic and has already mastered her one hand cartwheel,  front over,  round-off and a handstand. She is also in her 3rd year of T-ball at LYBA.

 

Most exciting thing you are looking forward to doing for your first time on DWTS?

                               “ Dancing in front of all the people!”

Team Kam’s Krew

James Defelice –  James is a 1994 graduate of Loreauville High School and has remained a heart felt supporter of our village ever since.  He has been on the St Joseph’s Tailgate Cookoff committee for 6 years. A board member of the Loreauville  Youth Baseball Association (LYBA) for the past 8 years, and has stepped up as the Director for the past 2 seasons. He is a supporter of the LHS Tiger Backers club and is also a Friday Night Den Member. He is a Loreauville Football and Baseball coach for the 8U division and is a past Softball coach as well. He has assisted as a Coordinator and helper for all of our Kamryn’s Cause 5K events we have put on in Loreauville. James also helps with the Mayor Al Memorial 5K each year, an event that holds a very special place in his heart. With all his dedication to our village, he some how found the time to start his own business. Def’s Landscaping & Lawns was established in 2017 and has grown into quite a successful business. James has been married to his beautiful wife Danielle Brooks Defelice, originally from Opelousas, for the past 7 years. He has two children Kelby Rae, age 13 and Cole James, age 6. 

 What was your feeling when you were asked to be a participant for this wonderful event?
Very excited and can’t wait to show my moves for such a great cause.”

Cole James Defelice, age 6 – is a Kindergarten student at Loreauville Elementary. Cole loves to hunt and fish and he also loves going to the camp. Cole is an avid sports lover. He plays football, baseball and was on LYBA’s first and only T-Ball All Star team in 2018.

Most exciting thing you are looking forward to doing for your first time on DWTS?
Remembering my dance and to get thru the song!!”

Nicholas Richard, age 10 – Nicholas will be an upcoming 5th grade student at Loreauville Elementary. Nicholas leads a very active life. He plays baseball for LYBA and he is a member of 4-H and Beta at LES. He is also an avid participant in events like Relay for Life, March of Dimes, Walk for a Cure, Mayor Al Memorial 5K Run and Kamryn’s Cause.

I’m hoping to have some fun while raising money for a great cause”

Eddie Dorsey – Is a 1994 graduate of Loreauville High School. He has been married to his lovely wife Kathleen for the past 17 years. They have three beautiful daughters Kamryn, Kayla & Kristyn. Eddie has followed and supported his daughters love for dancing for all these years and he can’t wait to be able to step into the spotlight and share the stage with Kayla and Kristyn. Eddie has been employed with AT & T for the past 15 years and is also a member of The St Joseph’s Knights of Columbus group.

Kayla Dorsey, age 14 – is an 8th grade student at Loreauville High School where she has been on the Honor Roll all school year.  Kayla will be entering 9th grade for the 2019-2020 school year, where she will begin her first year on the  LHS Tigerette’s Dance Team.  She is also a member of the LHS Chapel Club and is an active member in the schools Beta Club. She has been a dancer at Bridget’s Dance Academy for the past 9 years and has been on the BDA Elite Competition Team for 4 years.

 Kristyn Dorsey, age 11 – is a 5th grade student at Loreauville Elementary where she has been on the Honor Roll all school year. She is an active member in the LES Beta Club and is also in the schools French Class. She has been a dancer at Bridget’s Dance Academy for the past 6 years and has been on the BDA Elite Competition Team for 3 years.

Team Dugas

Dana Dugas –Dana is a longtime native of Loreauville and a Graduate of LHS. He has always been community involved between Iberia and St.Martin parishes. He is currently President of the Iberia Parish School Board, sits on the LA State Board of Contractors, is a Board member of the Teche Area Builders, is a member of the Iberia & St. Martinville Chamber of Commerce as well as the St. Martinville Kiwanis Club and most recently is involved with the Loreauville Community Project. He is the owner of Dana Dugas Affordable Homes, Dugas Rental Properties, Loreauville Racing Stables and past owner of Johnny’s Pizza House. He has been married to his beautiful wife Karen for 30 years, they have three wonderful children, Deserae, Daniel and Mike and five angelic grandchildren, Mason, Maddax, Marlie, Jaylynn and Em. Dana is currently running for State Representative of District 48.

What was your feeling when you were asked to be a participant for this wonderful event?

“ It was a great honor to be asked to do this. It is also very special to me to dance with my daughter. I have been fortunate to have healthy children, and I have lost family members to cancer – St. Jude is the rock for a lot of people and I am happy to help support it.”

Desi Dugas, age 27 – was born and raised in Loreauville. She is a 2008 Graduate of LHS where she was a member of the LHS Tigerette Dance Team and held the Co-Captain position her Senior Year. Some of her favorite memories from high school were made with Mrs. Huff and the Tigerette dance team; from practices to performances, traveling to Disney to compete and also cheering on the LHS Football players during games. She is also a 2008 graduate of Bridget’s Dance Academy, where she completed 16 years of dance and was also a teacher there for many years.  After graduating from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2012, she pursued a career as a Teacher. She is currently in her 7th year of teaching, is the Math teacher at Centerville High School and will be moving to Jeanerette High School for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. She is choreographing the Team Dugas dance routine and is so excited to help give back to St Jude’s.

“ I am excited to dance with my daddy”

Team Stiles

Jeanne Gondron Stiles- Jeanne was born and raised in Loreauville, La.  She is a 2000 Graduate of LHS and has been married to her wonderful husband Ashley for 18 years. They have 2 sons Jean-Paul and William. Jeanne is the Youth minister at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, organizes and runs the St Joseph’s Youth Group,  and she is also that angelic voice you hear singing at 10am Sunday masses. As busy as she stays she some how found time to start her own jewelry design company and has watched it grow into a very successful business. Original Stiles jewelry, opened since 2005, can be seen at many local craft shows and festivals.

What was your feeling when you were asked to be a participant for this wonderful event?
“I was honored to be chosen for such a great cause. “

Jean-Paul Timothy Stiles, age 16 – is currently a sophomore at Teurlings Catholic School in Lafayette. Jean-Paul is a swimmer at TCHS and Crawfish Aquatics. He is a member of the Rebels for Life (Pro-Life Club) and recently attended a mission trip to New Mexico At the Zuni-Pueblo. 

Jean-Paul is also a member and leader of the St. Joseph’s Youth Group in Loreauville.

Team Judice

Laine Judice  – Laine was born and raised in Loreauville, La. She has been married to her wonderful husband Brady for the past 20 years. They have 3 children, Payton, Mia and Aubree. Laine has been a 7th and 8th grade math teacher at LHS for the past 17 years. For the 2018-2019 school year she was honorably named Teacher of the Year. During Football season, Laine devotes her time to the Loreauville Jr. High Cheerleaders as their cheer coach. Laine and her family are lifelong parishioners of St Joseph’s Catholic Church and are also members of the St Joseph’s Youth Group.

What was your feeling when you were asked to be a participant for this wonderful event?
“I was very excited to participate with my girls in Dancing With The Stars. St Jude’s Hospital is a charity I always donate to and I am honored to be able to help Kamryn’s Cause.”

Mia Judice, age 11 is currently a 7th grader at Loreauville High School where she is an honor roll student. She has attended dancing at Bridget’s Dance Academy for 8 years. Mia was a member of the LES softball team for 2 years. This upcoming 2019-2020 school year, Mia will be a member of the Loreauville Junior High cheerleading squad.

Most exciting thing you are looking forward to doing for your first time on DWTS?
“I am most excited to be able to be involved with this event to help raise money for Kamryn’s Cause”

Aubree Judice, age 7 is currently a 2nd grade student at Loreauville Elementary School where she is an honor roll student. She has attended dancing at Bridget’s Dance Academy for the past 5 years and was honorably given the Student of The Year Award for her age group this year. Aubree is also a softball player for Loreauville Youth Baseball Association.

Most exciting thing you are looking forward to doing for your first time on DWTS?
“I am most excited about dancing with my mom and sister”

Team Young & Restless

Kitty Ruiz – Kitty is from Loreauville, La. and is enjoying the retirement life. She has been married to her wonderful husband Cordell for the past 16 years. She is a 1971 graduate from Jeanerette High School where she played basketball, volleyball and ran track. She had the pleasure of birthing 2 wonderful children, Racheal and Rusty. Racheal is a coordinator for Arc of Iberia and has blessed Kitty with 2 grandchildren Dya’ and Deon, who are the Joys of Her Life!! Rusty who was a US Marine, was in a tragic car accident in 2010. After his death, his family and classmates started the Rusty Ruiz Memorial  Foundation(R3). R3 has an annual golf tournament to raise money to donate to the community. With those funds they provide yearly scholarships to the LHS Senior Class, and also gift cards and bicycle raffles to the students at LES. Kitty and the R3 crew particpate in as many projects that they can in the Loreauville Community to help give back and honor the memory of Rusty.

What was your feeling when you were asked to be a participant for this wonderful event?
“OMG was my first thought….but being it’s for such a wonderful event, for such a beautiful little girl from an awesome family.”

Sophia Viator, age 6 – Sophia is the daughter of Drae Viator and Denia Gonzalez . She will be a First grade student next year at Loreauville Elementary. She has been a dance student at BDA, Bridget’s Dance Academy, for the past 4 years. She has also been on the BDA Elite competition team for 1 year. This year she was the winner of the Improv Competition at Dance Magic Biloxi competition . Sophias hobbies include dancing, swimming, riding her bike and scooter, playing with L.O.L. Dolls and also playing with her dogs, Grouton, Porky, Tolly, Jewel and Trip…… Her dream is to take over BDA one day when she is older.
